Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, executive engineer of the environmental division, Hanumant Kaladagi, said the initiative aims to improve urban cleanliness through active public participation. He noted that the Centre rewards urban local bodies with rankings and awards based on sanitation standards and citizen feedback.
According to BCC officials, nearly 16,000 responses have already been collected, and the corporation is aiming to gather feedback from at least five per cent of the city’s population as part of the survey target.
The survey includes questions related to waste management, cleanliness, and maintenance of public toilets. Residents can participate by scanning a QR code linked to the Swachh Survekshan application and submitting their responses online.

To increase participation, BCC teams are visiting institutions, public places, and residential areas to assist people in completing the survey.
Officials have appealed to citizens to actively participate in the campaign, stating that greater public involvement will help improve civic services and enhance Belagavi’s ranking in the national cleanliness survey.
