Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene state president Chunappa Poojari announced the meeting, stating that the government will discuss farmers’ demand for a price of ₹5,500 per tonne of sugarcane.

Farmers have been protesting for several days, demanding better prices for their produce. The agitation has intensified amid disagreements between farmers and sugar factory owners over the rate.
The upcoming meeting is expected to play a significant role in resolving the dispute. Farmers are hopeful that an agreement will be reached, paving the way for sugar factories to begin operations.
However, the final decision on sugarcane pricing and the start of factory operations will depend on the outcome of the meeting.
