The inquiry, conducted by Goaves zonal commissioner Priyanka Vinayak under the direction of revenue commissioner Siddu Hulloļi, investigated alleged irregularities in issuing PIDs to unauthorised properties. The report reportedly includes detailed documentation such as land records, ownership details and official approvals.

During the probe, notices were issued to four officials — zonal commissioner Dharmanath Kori, assistant revenue officer Parashuram Metri, revenue inspector Priya Laxmipur and bill collector Prakash Sathe — all of whom termed the lapses as inadvertent in their responses. However, sources indicate that all four have been held guilty in the inquiry.

With accountability established, the responsibility now lies with the city commissioner to initiate disciplinary and possible legal action.

The issue has triggered concerns over transparency and governance within the civic body, especially as similar irregularities are reported across all four zones of the corporation. The matter has been repeatedly raised in council meetings by both ruling and opposition members.

Meanwhile, a recent recommendation by Mayor Preeti Kamkar seeking the transfer of inquiry officer Priyanka Vinayak has raised questions, with some viewing it as a possible attempt to influence the investigation.
