Central Government’s National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) including Karnataka government’s Vision 2020 eleven new Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations (CAAQMS) will be set up in different places in the State.
As said by the officials, the Srinivasulu, member secretary, KSPCB told The Hans India, “Under NCAP and Vision 2020 some funds were released to the BBMP. He also added, that three stations (CAAQMS) out of 11 will be set up by this year.
Keeping industrial area as a concern which emit harmful components leading to pollution , the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has asked the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board ( KIADB) to set up these stations in the industrial areas.
The first four prime places where the station will be set up , are said to be Bengaluru while Kalaburagi, Davengere, Belagavi and Dharwad will get each .
