Responding to a question by MLA Duryodhan Aihole, the minister said that large districts face administrative challenges, and several representations have been submitted seeking the creation of additional districts from Belagavi. He noted that the proposal requires detailed study, public consultation, and discussions with the Chief Minister before any final decision is taken.

MLA Shashikala Jolle also highlighted the need for new district formations.

MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi urged the government to announce the bifurcation before the end of the ongoing session, pointing out that recommendations for Chikkodi and Gokak as district headquarters have been made by multiple committees over the past 40 years.
