3 Arrested, 20 Stolen Bikes Recovered in Belagavi

Belagavi, April 27: Belagavi Rural Police have arrested three persons involved in a series of motorcycle thefts and recovered 20 stolen bikes worth approximately Rs 11.73 lakh.

The case was registered on April 23, 2026, following a complaint by Dilip Tukaram Jadhav, a resident of Honaga, whose motorcycle was stolen from Yellur village. Based on the complaint, police registered a case at Belagavi Rural Police Station and launched an investigation.

Under the guidance of senior police officials, a special team was formed, which apprehended the accused on April 25. During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing motorcycles from multiple locations, including Yellur, Markandeya Nagar, Tilakwadi, Shahapur, Hukkeri and other areas.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Fakirappa Siddappa Karigar (25) from Hirehatti, Ramesh Prabhu Patil (23) from Aladhal, and Kamalappa alias Kamlu Yallappa Gundyagol (38) from Kenchanatti.

Police have recovered motorcycles of various brands such as Yamaha, Hero, TVS and Suzuki. Officials have appreciated the efforts of the investigation team. Further probe is underway.
