
Belagavi Recycling Startup Kabadi Man Wins ₹40 Lakh IIM Funding
Belagavi: Tech-enabled recycling marketplace Kabadi Man has secured its first institutional investment of ₹40 lakh from one of India’s leading Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs)

The Karnataka Government has come up with this idea of Cargo services named “Namma Cargo” launched on Monday by Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa along with Deputy Chief Minister Lakshman Savadi. As per the details given by the CM he said that the cargo services will be run by the state-government owned Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and its sister companies the NWKRTC and NEKRTC . This initiative is taken by the government to scale up the profits , which has lead in the drop of passengers during the onset pandemic which was a big loss.
Futher on this Savadi , who holds the transport portfolio on Thursday said that “ We are starting this new service to increase our revenue”. He futher added that the , three State road Transport Corporations have been generating Rs 35 Cr revenue by transporting luggage but now with the launch of the new service , they are likely to generate an approx revenue of Rs 70-80 Cr.
Namma Cargo will be operated through the Startegic Outsourcing Private Ltd company for the next five years in the three transport corporations- the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) , the North Western Karnataka Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) , and the North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC).
“Strategic Outsourcing will provide the basic infrastructure. Our transport corporation will be providing them the space to set up parcel counters at various facilities like bus stations “ Savadi said.
With the above context , he added that the customers will have to book their parcel at the booking counter at the bus stands similarly as they do while buying the tickets. He further added, that they will be asked to fill the form giving the information about the consignment. There will be notifications sent via SMS system for the dispatch and the receiver of the parcel.
The senior official told that the cargo services will start in the places where the “three transport corporations” ie. KSRTC, NWKRTC and NEKRTC together operate around 16,000 buses , not ony covering the length and the breadth of Karnataka but also connecting all southern states and also Maharashtra and Goa, which will be the ‘ Unique Trust Factor’.
