Belagavi: The Food and Civil Supplies Department has launched a fresh e-KYC verification drive covering 22.3 lakh ration card beneficiaries in Belagavi district.

Beneficiaries whose KYC was completed more than five years ago are required to complete the verification again. The process is available at ration shops through fingerprint or OTP authentication.
Officials said the exercise aims to remove the names of deceased and ineligible beneficiaries, identify duplicate entries and ensure ration benefits reach eligible families.
Those who fail to complete e-KYC within the prescribed deadline may temporarily lose ration benefits. Their names can be restored after completing the verification.
