The licence had been withdrawn on September 15 after the department reported breaches of provisions under the Karnataka APMC Act, 1966. The market association sought relief from the High Court, but the bench dismissed the plea during preliminary hearing.

During the proceedings, the court noted that the association had failed to disclose that 120 of its members were already pursuing an appeal before the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT). The judges observed that this non-disclosure was a serious lapse and upheld the Agriculture Department’s original order.

With this ruling, the cancellation remains in force, effectively stopping all commercial operations at the private vegetable market.
