Belagavi: Heavy rains battered several parts of Belagavi district, including Bailhongal, Kittur and Savadatti, leading to waterlogging, traffic disruptions and inconvenience to residents.

In Bailhongal taluk, continuous rainfall flooded roads and commercial areas, with water entering several shops and causing losses to traders. Several motorcycles parked along roadsides were submerged, while some were seen floating in floodwaters. Videos showing residents struggling to rescue their vehicles have gone viral on social media.
In Kittur taluk, heavy rain inundated low-lying areas within a short span of time. Rainwater entered an anganwadi centre, disrupting activities and causing difficulties for children and staff. The water was later cleared by the centre’s employees.

Meanwhile, Savadatti town witnessed severe waterlogging, with the market road completely submerged. Auto-rickshaws and motorcycles were stranded in flooded streets, while rainwater entering shopfronts created further problems for business owners and residents.
The heavy rainfall has affected normal life across parts of the district, and authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation as the monsoon remains active in the region.
