The main highlights of this historical monument is the two pillars on which there are scripts written on it in kannada, on one pillar they have written about the king kartavirya of ratta dynasty from 1199 and on second pillar they have written about the king sevuna Krishna form 1261. Kamal Basti is an well built and executed masterpiece. Here we can see a beautifully built lotus of 72 petals on the ceiling which is still in a perfect shape and details on it are just amazing.
There is another Jain temple outside the Kamal Basti which is know as Chikki Basti. This historical monument is ruined and it was also built in the same time of Kamal Basti .
