Shettar submitted a memorandum highlighting the growing number of industrial establishments and insured workers in the region. Nearly one lakh workers in Belagavi are covered under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

Currently, Belagavi falls under the jurisdiction of the ESIC office in Hubballi, forcing workers to travel nearly 120 km to access grievance redressal and other essential services.

Citing the growing industrial activity and the needs of workers, Shettar requested the Minister to establish a dedicated ESIC office in Belagavi to improve access to social security and welfare services.

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya positively heard the request and assured Shettar that appropriate action would be taken at the earliest.

The proposed office is expected to make ESIC services more accessible and convenient for workers and industrial establishments across the Belagavi region.
