Belagavi: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced plans to construct a grand Sri Venkateshwara temple near Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi. The project will come up on a seven-acre plot and aims to serve devotees from North Karnataka, Goa, and south Maharashtra.

Construction is expected to begin within a month and be completed in about two years. The total cost of the project is estimated at ₹100 crore, with 80% of the funding coming from TTD, 10% from the Reddy Sangha, and the remaining through public donations.

The land for the temple has been donated by the Belagavi Reddy Sangha, with the formal handover already completed. TTD is also planning to acquire additional land nearby to develop infrastructure for pilgrims.

According to TTD governing board member S. Naresh Kumar, Belagavi’s strategic location at the tri-junction of Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa makes it ideal for developing into a major spiritual hub. The new temple is also expected to strengthen the regional pilgrimage circuit, particularly for devotees visiting the Mahalaxmi temple in Kolhapur.

The proposed temple will replicate the design and rituals of the Tirupati shrine and will offer facilities such as accommodation, prasadam distribution, and free round-the-clock meals for devotees.

TTD currently manages temples at multiple locations across India and is targeting ₹9,000 crore in revenue from paid darshan tickets to support its expanding infrastructure and services.
